Fawkner PS has been working with Merri Health and Moreland City Council to develop safe walking routes to and from school, and safe areas to cross the roads.
Please see the map to see where it is safest for you and your children to walk to school, and where the safest place to cross the road is.
Fawkner Primary School is excited to celebrate Walk Safely to School Day in 2018!
On Thursday 17 May, we are encouraging Fawkner Primary families to walk, ride or scoot to school.
A healthy breakfast for family, staff and students will take place at 8.15am at the school, with lots of games and fun for the whole family!
For those who live too far away to walk or ride, we are organising a ‘Park & Walk’ location at Mutton Reserve (Lorne St Carpark). Students can be dropped off, and will be escorted safely to school together.
We need your help!
If you would like to help with the healthy breakfast, please let us know on the day.
Giant footpath stickers
Currently we are developing a set of giant footpath stickers, to assist students to walk and ride safely to school all year round. The stickers, designed by Grades 5 and 6 students, will be installed prior to Walk Safely to School Day.
On the day families will receive maps of the decal routes. Families are encouraged to walk to routes with their children so that they feel comfortable and safe.
On Tuesday (20th of March) Foundation A and Foundation C went to the Melbourne Aquarium.
We had a great day learning all about our friends in the sea!
Fawkner Primary School is having a special Park and Walk Event on Ride2School Day! We invite everyone to meet at Mutton Reserve to walk or ride to school together at 8.30am. We’ll supply a healthy breakfast for all the riders and walkers thanks to Merri Community Health and Moreland Council.
Fawkner Primary School has a learning with technology focus, and we believe that having access to, and being able to use, high quality, up to date, internet capable technology is very important to students in the modern age.
Students in Grades 3 to 6 are assigned a laptop that they use in their classrooms for a wide variety of learning tasks, and these laptops can be leased from the school so that students can take them home to continue their learning.
