Grades 1 and 2 held a ‘Teddy Bear Picnic’ day on Thursday March 30, 2017. What a great way to celebrate the end of our Integrated Studies unit on ‘Toys and Games’ and the end of Term 1.
We had our picnic in the multipurpose room as it was too cold for us outside. We all sat in a large circle. We ate our lunch and then our teachers passed us teddy bear biscuits as a treat.
We played pass the parcel with music. Each time the music stopped, whoever had the parcel unwrapped the first layer. It took us a while until the price was won by Hadijah in 12W.
It was then time for raffle draws and that was lots of fun too. We enjoyed drumming the floor each time the tickets were drawn. There were lots of prizes won by many of us.
We took our teddies outside to play on the playground. Our teddies enjoyed taking the slide ride, climbing the monkey bars and being held and cuddled too.
Here is what we had to say about our picnic day:
“My favourite part was when we did the pass the parcel because you can get a prize.” – Salam 12M
“My favourite part was when we had biscuits because my bear had fun.” – Soban 12M
“I enjoyed bringing my teddy and seeing other people’s teddies too.” – Manshae 12W
“I enjoyed the teddy picnic because we played around the game and I got a rubber and we bring our teddy bear and I had fun.” – Fahad 12W
“My favourite part was when we did pass the parcel and the raffle tickets.” – Ismah 12S
