The Better Buddies Program involves Foundation and Grade 6 students meeting every Thursday afternoon to work together on various activities throughout the year.
The program aims to develop and promote social skills between students in Foundation and senior primary school students. Through Better Buddies, children learn the values: caring for others, friendliness, respect, valuing difference, including others and responsibility. The program aims to help the transition from pre-school to primary school and to give responsibilities to the older students.
The Better Buddies Program is supported by The Alannah and Madeline Foundation, a national charity protecting children from violence and its devastating effects. Their vision is that every child will live in a safe and supportive environment.
