Kindergarten in a play-based learning environment for children in the years before school. Children are eligible to attend four-year old kindergarten if they turn four years old by 30th April in the year of attendance. Children are encouraged to be creative, to ask questions and to develop independence. Our aim is for each child to develop high self-esteem and confidence in their own abilities. We prioritise social and emotional skill development.
The location of the Kindergarten on the School site allows for an extended transition to Primary School Program. This allows for the Kinder children to become familiar with a school environment. The Kinder participates in special events with the Primary School as well as visiting their classrooms. In Term 4 we visit the grade 5 children each week.
We also offer a Language enrichment program once a week. This program is run by a qualified speech pathologist and aims to teach children age-appropriate language concepts. Throughout the year we have several incursions including a Sports Day, Responsible Pet Handing Program and Dental Check-ups.
Enrolment forms for three and four-year old programs can be collected from the Kinder.
Four-year old enrolments for 2018 can be completed online. http://moreland.vic.gov.au/community-care/children-and-families/kindergartens/four-year-old-kindergarten/
