Fawkner Primary School has a learning with technology focus, and we believe that having access to, and being able to use, high quality, up to date, internet capable technology is very important to students in the modern age.
Students in Grades 3 to 6 are assigned a laptop that they use in their classrooms for a wide variety of learning tasks, and these laptops can be leased from the school so that students can take them home to continue their learning.
In 2018, all students from grades 3 to 6 are eligible to lease their laptops at a cost of $60 per term or $240 for the full year; laptops will need to be returned to the school at the end of the year, although returning students will be able to use the same laptop in the following year. Students who lease their laptop will be required to bring it to school fully charged each day to use at school, but will be able to take it home each night and over the weekends.
Laptops will be offered for sale to graduating Grade 6. We will offer a significant discount to students who have contributed by leasing their laptop during their schooling. The price will be reduced based on school terms leased at a rate of 6.25% per term leased, so e.g. if you have leased a Fawkner Primary School laptop for 12 terms, this would be a 75% discount on the purchase price.
This is a great opportunity for students to be able to advance their ICT skills and capability with digital technologies. If you are interested in the program, leasing forms are available from the office with terms and conditions.
