Welcome to our School
Welcome to Fawkner Primary School, a caring and nurturing learning environment. Our dedicated and experienced teachers provide a positive and enriching program, appreciating the individual needs and interests of each child.
Lorne Street Kindergarten is managed by the Northern Schools Early Years Cluster Inc. and is located within the grounds of Fawkner Primary School.
Our Kindergarten opened in January 2016.
We offer sessions for three-year old children (one four-hour session a week) and four-year old children (three five-hour sessions a week).
Within the precinct we also have a Maternal Child Health Nurse and a playgroup.
Last Thursday (15/10/15) we had our Prep – 2 Sleepover! All the students who attended had a fantastic evening!
Welcome to a day in the maths life of a Prep/1 student!
For many years, Fawkner Primary School has committed to improving the health and wellbeing of its students, staff and community.
We are currently working towards becoming a Healthy School as part of the State Government’s Healthy Together Achievement Program, with a focus on healthy eating and oral health.
This includes a healthy eating policy, teaching about healthy foods in the classroom, and improving our canteen.
Everyone can play a role in helping to improve nutrition and health outcomes for our school community. If would like to be involved, please contact Maria Weston (Assistant Principal).
Students at Fawkner Primary School have had a wide range of opportunities to get active this year! From Jump Rope for Heart to AFL clinics to first aid in school, and more!
Congratulations to all the students who attended and represented Fawkner Primary School at the District Athletics Carnival on Wednesday 9th September.
Our school competed with 8 other schools and they were great sports and representatives of our school on the day.
In term 3, Grade 1/2 students participated in a drama incursion that related to our integrated studies unit Fairytales and Fantasy. Students engaged in an imaginative and creative play with Princess Amie leading a ‘back-to-front’ fairytale. Students dressed up in various costumes and were taken through the exciting journey.
The health and developmental well-being of our students is vital to their success at school. Fawkner Primary School is committed to promoting healthy living principles for children in a framework that supports good health and builds confidence and self- esteem.
