Welcome to our School
Welcome to Fawkner Primary School, a caring and nurturing learning environment. Our dedicated and experienced teachers provide a positive and enriching program, appreciating the individual needs and interests of each child.
Lorne Street Kindergarten is managed by the Northern Schools Early Years Cluster Inc. and is located within the grounds of Fawkner Primary School.
Our Kindergarten opened in January 2016.
We offer sessions for three-year old children (one four-hour session a week) and four-year old children (three five-hour sessions a week).
Within the precinct we also have a Maternal Child Health Nurse and a playgroup.
We live in a world surrounded by technology. And we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly hinge on understanding how technology works. But only a tiny fraction of us are learning computer science, and less students are studying it than a decade ago.
That’s why our entire school is joining in on the largest learning event in history: The Hour of Code, during Computer Science Education Week (Dec. 7-13). More than 100 million students worldwide have already tried an Hour of Code.
Our Hour of Code is a statement that Fawkner Primary School is ready to teach these foundational 21st century skills.
This is a chance to change the future of education in Fawkner.
See http://hourofcode.com/au for details, and help spread the word.
Congratulations to Prep student Batul and her parent – Sakina – who were the winning family of the Community Grocer fruit and vegetable box!
Batul and her family walked to school for the healthy breakfast on Thursday, 29th of October.
To be as healthy as possible and also get the full range of nutrients we need to keep our bodies going, dieticians recommend that we eat a minimum amount of serves of vegetables and fruits every day.
Last Thursday (15/10/15) we had our Prep – 2 Sleepover! All the students who attended had a fantastic evening!
Welcome to a day in the maths life of a Prep/1 student!
For many years, Fawkner Primary School has committed to improving the health and wellbeing of its students, staff and community.
We are currently working towards becoming a Healthy School as part of the State Government’s Healthy Together Achievement Program, with a focus on healthy eating and oral health.
This includes a healthy eating policy, teaching about healthy foods in the classroom, and improving our canteen.
Everyone can play a role in helping to improve nutrition and health outcomes for our school community. If would like to be involved, please contact Maria Weston (Assistant Principal).
Students at Fawkner Primary School have had a wide range of opportunities to get active this year! From Jump Rope for Heart to AFL clinics to first aid in school, and more!
